Announcement: Remote Learning - NDT Training Ultrasonic Testing Level 1

On-line NDT Training Course Description:
During these fluid times, we are continuing to offer innovative NDT training solutions for our broad spectrum of customers. This April we are offering Ultrasonic Testing Level 1, every Monday, for 4 weeks with one additional flexible day dedicated to review examination.
Training will be offered through a GoToMeeting (www.gotomeeting.com) platform in conjunction with Google Classroom (https://edu.google.com/products/classroom/?modal_active=none). Each day will consist of a technical quiz, interactive presentation of key technical topics, practical exercises, and self-study homework. Upon successful complete of examination, the student will receive a Level 1 Ultrasonic Testing certificate. Training will be in accordance with the latest ASNT / ISO non-destructive testing training standards.
Some minimum requirements are required on-line NDT training:
- Laptop or personnel computer with high-speed reliable internet connection
- Headset with microphone is recommended
- Olympus EPOCH 600/650 or equivalent
- Straight beam transducer: Two different frequencies recommended
- Angle beam transducer: 40, 60, and 70 degree wedges recommended
- IIW block or comparable, step block
- Couplant

Thomas R. Hay, Ph.D., P.E. and ASNT Level 3 #107162 has over 20 years of NDT experience and thousands of hours of training experience. He received his Ph.D. from Penn State University’s prestigious Ultrasonic Lab and has been an ASNT Level 3 since 2001. Additionally, he is a P.E. in Canada and the United States. His career started in NDT product development building automated ultrasonic and eddy-current inspection solutions.
After many years in product development he spent more than a decade performing R&D at the highest levels for different clients including the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, Transport Research Board, and Department of Transportation.
In parallel he has led an engineering and non-destructive testing service line for a variety of clients world-wide. As of 2020, Dr. Hay has over 400 clients worldwide.
