Marine and Offshore Wire Rope Inspection: MFL Testing, Visual NDT, and MT of Mooring Hardware

TechKnowServ provides certified marine and offshore wire rope inspection services for mooring systems, offshore cranes, anchor handling equipment, and deck machinery operating in demanding seawater environments. Our inspection programs combine detailed visual examinations with advanced Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) testing to detect internal wire breaks, corrosion, and loss of metallic cross-sectional area in spiral strand mooring ropes, rotation-resistant crane ropes, and flexible deck machinery ropes. To ensure the integrity of the complete load path, we also perform Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) of spelter sockets, shackles, swivels, pad eyes, and other critical mooring and lifting hardware in accordance with ASTM E1444 and classification society requirements. Inspection findings support compliance with API RP 2I, ISO 4309, and classification society survey programs, providing vessel and offshore installation operators with a comprehensive assessment of wire rope system condition.
