Acoustic Emission
IN-SERVICE INSPECTION WITH ACOUSTIC EMISSION
Use Acoustic Emission (AE) testing to inspect your pressure vessels in service. Detect fatigue cracks, corrosion fatigue cracks, stress corrosion cracking, and other in-service-related flaws. These inspections are used to support American Petroleum Institute (API) in-service pressure vessel and above-ground storage tank inspections, as well as new vessels fabricated in accordance with the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) boiler and pressure vessel code.
All vessels are pressurized to 105% or 110% of their maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) with water, another liquid, or gas, most commonly nitrogen. The U.S. Department of Transportation qualifies TKS to recertify DOT cylinders. Our expertise extends to:
-
ISO containers
-
Composite pressure vessels
-
Horizontal receivers
-
Spherical tanks
-
Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) cylinders
-
NGV tanks
-
Above-ground storage tanks
-
API 510 inspections
-
API 653 inspections
